    Travel RN – Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU/CVICU)

    Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends | No On-Call

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric cardiac ICU and step-down level patients within an acuity-adaptive care model, with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 based on census and acuity needs
    • Manage and monitor arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients
    • Support and participate in procedures including central line and arterial line placement, conscious sedation, intubation/extubation, sternal closures, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, CRRT, and manual PD
    • Provide post-operative recovery care for patients undergoing general and cardiac procedures, including management of congenital heart disease (CHD) patients
    • Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, GE radiant warmers, Somanetics NIRS machines, and Servo U ventilators
    • Document accurately using Meditech EMR and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care technicians
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 1 year of experience as a staff nurse in a Pediatric CICU or CVICU
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff nurse in a PICU setting
    • 3–4 prior travel contracts in a dedicated Pediatric CICU
    • Demonstrated experience caring for patients with congenital heart disease, including pre-operative and post-operative management
    • Proficiency with management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines
    • Active BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • 2 or more years of experience as a staff nurse in a Pediatric CICU or CVICU
    • At least 1 year of experience caring for neonatal cardiac patients, including pre-operative and post-operative management
    • 2 or more years of pediatric cardiac experience in a step-down or cardiology floor setting
    • Compassionate, detail-oriented, and adaptable team player with strong critical thinking skills
