    Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

    El Paso, Texas

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-Hour Shifts per Week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and pediatric intensive care patients in a 19-bed unit (10 PICU, 9 Pediatric beds)
    • Manage patient ratios of 1:2 for PICU and up to 1:5 for general pediatric patients, adjusting as census and acuity require
    • Assist with and monitor procedures including lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation
    • Operate and monitor unit equipment including Hillrom beds, GE monitors, ICU Medical Plum 360 pumps, and Med Fusion syringe pumps
    • Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
    • Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary team members across day and night shifts to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
    • Pediatric nursing experience
    • Pediatric ICU experience
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Combined experience in both general pediatrics and pediatric intensive care settings
    • Familiarity with vasoactive drip management and mechanical ventilation support
    • Experience with Meditech EMR
    • Adaptable team player who embraces constructive feedback and thrives in a dynamic clinical environment
