Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed PICU setting managing complex pediatric diagnoses including respiratory distress, post-arrest, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, neuro, surgical post-ops, new onset DKA, and burns in intubated patients under 13 years
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 in the PICU; collaborate with CNA/PCT ancillary staff, Residents, Fellows, and Attending MDs present on unit
• Float within the ICU cluster as needed, which may include NICU, CVICU, IMCU, and Burn ICU; travelers are first to float
• Administer and manage medications utilizing EPIC EMR and Pyxis with barcode scanning
• Collaborate with RTs on ventilator management; support care for patients on chronic vents and trachs as applicable
• Adhere to facility dress code, complete 2–3 days of orientation and required specialty testing prior to independent practice

Required Qualifications

• Active Arkansas RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience (minimum 1–2 completed assignments)
• Recent hands-on EPIC EMR experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Must pass facility fit test (facial hair permitted only for documented religious beliefs); must test negative for nicotine

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2–5 years of clinical experience in a pediatric critical care specialty
• Familiarity with CRRT, ECMO support, and management of complex pediatric surgical post-operative patients
• Experience working in a trauma Level I or teaching hospital environment
