Key Responsibilities
  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary
  • Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Assists physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Interacts with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge, and informs them of hospital procedures
  • Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures with strong verbal, written, and basic computer skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
