Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments and noting changes in physician orders.
Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary.
Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
Assists physicians in patient examinations and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan during hospitalization and at time of discharge, and informs them of hospital procedures.
Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures; strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services within a pediatric intensive care setting.
