Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians in patient examinations and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan during hospitalization and at time of discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures with strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
- Experience applying nursing techniques in a pediatric or critical care setting
