Job Title: Travel RN - Pediatrics Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NR-P Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current pediatric RN experience. Must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, and chest tubes. Description: The unit has 36 private rooms with accommodations for parents to sleep. There are 60 staff members assigned to the unit. Day shift includes 1 charge nurse (patient-free) and 1-3 patient care technicians. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse (patient-free) and 1-2 patient care technicians. Occasionally, a clinical nurse coordinator is available for support. Patient ratios are 1:3 for step-down patients and 1:4 for basic care patients. Common procedures include NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, and phlebotomy. An AccuVein is available in the department. Lumbar punctures may occasionally occur. The department operates in a fast-paced environment. Teamwork and a willingness to ask for help are essential. The scheduling manager prioritizes travelers' schedule flexibility. Travelers are considered when creating schedules alongside full-time employees. The department does not handle trauma or burns. Candidates with extensive experience in travel nursing will be prioritized.
