Travel Nurse RN - Pediatrics - $1,786 per week in Denver, CO

Job Title: Travel RN - Pediatric Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of current Pediatric RN experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Pediatric RN experience - Comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, and chest tubes Description: This position is for a Pediatric Step-Down Unit. The unit has 36 beds that are all private rooms, with accommodations for parents to sleep. There are approximately 60 staff members on the unit. During the day shift, staffing includes one charge nurse, who is patient-free, and one to three patient care technicians. A clinical nurse coordinator is available as an extra resource, typically four days a week. For the night shift, there is one charge nurse, patient-free, and one to two patient care technicians, with occasional clinical nurse coordinator support. The patient-to-nurse ratios are mixed, with step-down patients receiving 1:3 care and basic care patients receiving 1:4 care. Equipment used includes Phillips monitors. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Candidates should possess a strong willingness to be part of a fast-paced team. Asking for help and offering assistance to colleagues is encouraged. The unit fosters a fun environment where all team members feel included. Typical procedures performed include NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, and phlebotomy, with the occasional LP. The department supports scheduling flexibility, with communication for requests handled simultaneously with full-time staff. The unit does not take trauma or burn cases.
