Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Colorado
- At least 1 year of current pediatric RN experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Demonstrated competency caring for pediatric patients requiring high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, and spinal fusion recovery
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
- Prior travel nursing experience is preferred; first-time travelers must be willing to work night shifts
- Prior Meditech experience is preferred
Pediatric RN Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric step-down and basic-care patients.
- Monitor and manage patients with high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, and post-operative spinal fusion needs.
- Perform patient assessments, medication administration, clinical documentation, and ongoing evaluation of patient response to treatment.
- Provide care involving nasogastric tubes, Foley catheters, feeding tubes, peripheral IVs, and phlebotomy.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the interdisciplinary care team.
- Collaborate with pediatric nurses, patient care technicians, charge nurses, providers, and families to support positive patient outcomes.
- Follow unit policies, maintain accurate Meditech documentation, and contribute to a safe healing environment for patients and families.
