Job Summary: Pediatric Nursing for a pediatric unit located in the region. This position involves caring for patients from infancy through adolescence, addressing both chronic and acute pediatric illnesses. The role requires collaboration with pediatric hospitalists and adherence to unit protocols to provide quality care. The assignment begins on October 5, 2026, and concludes on January 4, 2027.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other week, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Current RN licensure from the Oregon State Board of Nursing or eligibility for a temporary 90-day license; 2-3 years of experience in pediatric inpatient settings, including at least 1 year in Pediatric Medical Surgical, Pediatric Intensive Care/Critical Care, or Pediatric Medical Oncology; BLS Certification; PALS Certification.
Float: Float to NICU, postpartum units, and labor & delivery is possible, aligned with competency and skills in pediatrics.
Additional Information: Orientation includes 12 hours of non-billable training during the first week, with onboarding facilitated by nursing leadership and experienced pediatric nurses. The unit utilizes EPIC charting and Omnicell medication systems. Approximately 4-7 patients per shift, with nurse-to-patient ratios in accordance with Oregon staffing law. Pediatric hospitalists provide 24/7 coverage. Candidates must be willing to work weekends and complete orientation modules on organizational policies, EPIC, and departmental procedures.
