Travel Nurse RN - Pediatrics - $2,264 per week in Mission Viejo, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred, preferably 3 years or greater. License: Active California RN License required. Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Experience in pediatrics, including administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, NG tube insertion and management, pediatric dosage calculations, seizure disorders, and starting and maintaining IVs. Description: This is a pediatric nursing position requiring experience in general medical/surgical care. The age range of patients is from newborn through seventeen. Duties will include care for patients with respiratory, surgical, neurological, and infectious conditions. The unit has a high admission churn rate, which can vary from 4 to 26 visits daily. There are designated beds for epilepsy video telemetry monitoring. All staff are RNs; no CNAs are utilized. Employees will be expected to float to the NICU and PICU, with a 6-hour orientation provided for these units. Shifts are scheduled every other weekend, with opportunities for additional shifts. Patient ratios are 1:4 for both day and night shifts. The facility supports an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Travelers may be required to provide care for patients in an eating disorder unit in addition to typical medical/surgical patients.
