• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Orientation: 60 hours
• Scheduling: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Float Areas: PICU, NICU, Pediatric ED, Acute Pediatrics, and occasional coverage in L&D and Mother/Baby as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility pending license by the required start timeline
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric critical care nursing experience
• Prior PICU experience required; NICU experience strongly preferred
• Comfort with pediatric med-surg and pediatric emergency department patients required
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required; may submit with pending completion if necessary
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and float within scope of practice across pediatric units
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and comfort caring for high-acuity pediatric populations

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for pediatric patients across intensive care, intermediate care, emergency, and acute care settings
• Deliver expert RN care to patients with complex diagnoses including respiratory distress, congenital conditions, neurological disorders, and post-surgical needs
• Support neonatal resuscitation and care for high-risk deliveries when assigned
• Monitor and manage ventilated patients, IV therapies, hemodynamic status, and specialized pediatric treatments
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with pediatric best practices and unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, child life specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to support excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with families and care teams
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and float appropriately across assigned pediatric units
