Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of RN experience required
  • Recent pediatric PACU, pre-op, or post-anesthesia care experience strongly preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Must be comfortable caring for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
  • Must have reliable transportation for the assignment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills

Pediatric PACU Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate care to pediatric patients in pre-op and PACU recovery
  • Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia using strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Support a variety of pediatric surgical specialties, including orthopedics, ENT, urology, plastics, dental, oral maxillofacial, endoscopy, ophthalmology, and general surgery
  • Care for both outpatient and higher-acuity pediatric surgical cases as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
  • Collaborate with anesthesia and interdisciplinary support teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
  • Adapt quickly to unit needs and float when required based on clinical skill set
  • Deliver a reassuring experience for pediatric patients and their families during recovery
