Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Must-Have: Experience with pediatric patients and critical care strongly preferred Experience recovering orthopedic, neuro, general, urology, dental, gynecology, and ENT surgeries in both adults and pediatrics Experience monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines Description: Start date within the next 3-5 weeks preferred. BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH certifications are required. Monday to Friday availability is needed. Call is required 6-8 days per month, and it is self-scheduled. Candidate must have experience recovering pediatric patients. Strong experience with pediatric surgeries, particularly ENT and orthopedic, is essential. Nurse will be required to help with coverage in the Pre-Op area. Previous experience with Level II trauma is preferred. The pediatric unit serves a variety of patients and procedures excluding heart surgeries. Candidates must be comfortable with a heavy volume of orthopedic, general, gynecological, neurological, and urological surgeries. Nurse will work with adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 30 patients. A strong collaborative approach is taken with interdisciplinary support available, including respiratory services and pharmacy. Experience with Cerner charting system is preferred. An on-site drug screen will be conducted. Failure to pass the drug screen will result in cancellation of the assignment.
