Must-Have:
Must have flight and/or mobile transfer experience to be considered for an interview.
Must have both OR RN License and WA/Compact RN License prior to starting.
Description:
Our transport team consists of one RN and one RT on each shift.
They receive activations to transport patients from outside facilities that need a higher level of care.
The team transports both neonates and pediatric patients guided by a physician.
Transport can occur via ground or air as needed.
Most transports are back to a designated facility, but there are contracts to provide patient transport between various sites.
Flight training will be part of the orientation process, conducted by an external vendor.
The RN and RT partners must have skills in intubation, resuscitation, IV placement, and other critical care interventions.
Recent neonatal and pediatric transport experience is required.
Transport nurses work closely with RT partners to provide mobile ICU-level care.
Patients include neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
Transports are directed by qualified medical professionals.
The RN must be comfortable collaborating with an RT and EMS partner.
Special equipment includes transport ventilators and infusion pumps.
The unit serves a broad geographical area and handles various critical conditions.
