Travel Nurse RN - Pediatrics - $2,652 per week in Portland, OR

Job Title: Pediatric Transport Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Transport Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role License: Active RN License (WA/Compact RN License) required prior to starting Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS required Must-Have: Flight and/or mobile transfer experience Recent neonatal and pediatric transport experience Description: MUST HAVE flight and/or mobile transfer experience to be considered for an interview. Must have both RN Licenses prior to starting. Our transport team consists of one RN and one RT on each shift. They receive activations to transport patients from outside facilities who need a higher level of care. The team transports both neonates and pediatric patients guided by a physician from facilities throughout the area. Transport methods may include driving, flying, or using rotorcraft. Most often, the team transports patients back to the facility but is also contracted to provide patient transport between sites. Flight training will be part of the orientation process, and the traveler must complete training similar to that of the rest of the team to meet vendor contract requirements. Patient Age Groups: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents Patient Diagnoses: Prematurity, respiratory distress, asthma, DKA, sepsis, cardiogenic shock, seizures, ingestion/overdose, cardiac arrest Special Procedures: The team brings NICU and PICU expertise to transport settings. The RN and RT team possesses skills in intubation, resuscitation, IV placement, UAC/UVC placement, and chest needling. Transport nurses work closely with an RT partner during transfers. They transport by ground and air, frequently covering a range of locations. Transports are directed by intensivists and/or neonatologists. The RN must feel comfortable working alongside an RT and EMS partner. Transport equipment includes ventilators, isolettes, infusion pumps, and monitoring systems.
