Job Title: Pediatric Transport Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Transport Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active compact nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS Must-Have: Charge nurse experience preferred Experience in ground transportation Description: Perm candidates of any facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. This role is for a Pediatric/Neonatal Transport RN supporting ground transportation needs. Responsibilities include working with the transportation team to transport infants and pediatric patients from various facilities to a designated location for a higher level of care. Candidates must have experience in ground transportation. The role requires occasional floating to cover bedside nursing in neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, or pediatric units. Weekends will be required every other weekend. No call is required. The nurse will be involved in transportation logistics and must demonstrate proficiency in handling various pediatric and neonatal medical needs. Skills needed include management of ventilated patients, monitoring of vital signs, and assistance with emergency protocols. The candidate should be able to perform essential procedures such as IV starts, arterial line management, and care of patients with central lines. Recognition of abnormal laboratory results and dysrhythmias is crucial. The RN will work closely with a team, including respiratory therapists and advanced practice providers, to ensure safe transport of patients. Interdisciplinary support will be provided as needed during patient transfers. Candidates should be prepared to adapt to varying patient states and emergency situations during transport.
