Job Summary:
Pediatric Floor Nurse in Oakland, California This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a pediatric inpatient unit. The position requires flexibility to float across multiple UCSF campuses and offers dynamic opportunities to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN degree, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and valid CA RN license. At least 2 years of experience in Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)/Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) and Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Skills: Airway assessment, outpatient and ambulatory care, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia recognition and management, emergency medications, ENT procedures, lab value interpretation, PPE and isolation precautions, management of pediatric patients, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), ophthalmology, orthopedic, pediatric PACU, Phase I and II recovery, tonsillectomy, and care in children's facilities.
• Additional Unit Information: This position is primarily based in Walnut Creek in an ambulatory surgery center, serving neonates, infants, and pediatric patients with daily census of 10-20. The role involves working in a diverse case mix including OHNS, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and dentistry, with interdisciplinary support.
• Travel & Float Requirements: Ability to float to other UCSF campuses within a 75+ mile radius may be required at any time.
• Start Date: 09/01/2026.
• Submittal Requirements: Must include employment history with dates, units worked, and manager names for any employment with university-affiliated medical facilities. Two recent references are required.
• Orientation: Registration at 4:00 pm PST on the Monday before the start date; onboarding details need to be confirmed with the project manager.
