Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric/Neonatal Transport role requiring a WA or compact license and at least 5 years of combined PEDS ED/PICU and Level IV NICU experience.

Details

• Pediatric Transport unit within a 152-bed Level 2 trauma center and Level 4 NICU serving the Puget Sound region and eastern Washington
• Supports interhospital transport via ground ambulance and fixed/rotor wing aircraft in partnership with NW Ambulance and Airlift Northwest
• Transport team consists of 1 RN, 1 RT, and an EMT driver
• Cares for pediatric and neonatal patients with diagnoses including HIE, ppHN, asthma, respiratory illness, sepsis, DKA, metabolic disorders, trauma, ingestions, congenital heart defects, cancer, and NEC
• Facility provides CRRT and ECMO services
• 12-hour night shifts, either 7p-7a or 7a-7p, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirement
• Floats to other units or serves as helping hands when not on transport
• Utilizes Phillips monitors, Hamilton ventilators, Braun and Baxter IV pumps, Tecotherm, Zoll defibrillators, TXP, Cross Vent, Zoll emsCHARTS, Stryker gurney, and transport isolette
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license
• Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required; TNCC and STABLE preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in PEDS ED/PICU and Level IV NICU, with at least 1 year in each setting
• At least 3 years of neonatal/pediatric transport experience within the last 5 years
• Proficient in airway management, vasoactive drips/infusions, non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/HFNC), inhaled respiratory medication administration, and IV/IO access

Additional Information

• Provides critical care transport for pediatric and neonatal patients during interhospital transfers
• Orientation includes safety day training for ambulance and aircraft equipment
• Black scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered
