CVPICU Registered Nurse

Job Description

The CVPICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit. This position requires a committed professional who is skilled in managing complex patient needs and providing exceptional family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the health status of pediatric patients in the CVPICU.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care discussions.
• Educate patients and families regarding post-care and management.
• Manage potential cardiology-related emergencies effectively.
• Maintain accurate and updated patient records and documentation.
• Assist in training and mentoring new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications are required.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a CVPICU is mandatory, specifically at a children's facility.
• Ability to float to other pediatric intensive care units and general pediatrics when necessary.
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.

Schedule

This position requires three 12-hour night shifts per week.
