    Registered Nurse – PACU (Pediatric)

    Location

    Jacksonville, NC

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | On-call required (nights, weekends, and holidays included, typically 1 night per week) | Weekends and holidays required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Monitor and care for patients in an 8-bay Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) immediately following surgery on a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Manage patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and all other post-surgical needs
    • Transport and transition patients to the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) for continued observation once stable
    • Collaborate as part of a team-based Surgical Services unit with emphasis on patient satisfaction and patient safety
    • Float to units of like or lesser acuity as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
    • Minimum of one year of Main Hospital PACU experience required
    • Pediatric experience in the OR required
    • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required and in hand at time of submission
    • Current Nursys report dated within the past 7 days must be included with submittal
    • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of submission; maximum of 5 days, subject to manager approval
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience working in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical services environment
    • Demonstrated ability to manage pediatric post-surgical patients across a range of acuity levels
