Registered Nurse – Pediatric PACU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | 4x10-Hour Shifts | Day/Evening (Start times range from 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Phase 1 and Phase 2 post-anesthesia recovery care for pediatric patients in a high-acuity PACU setting
• Manage a diverse patient population including acutely ill pediatric patients across a wide variety of diagnoses and conditions
• Perform central line management and care for tracheostomy patients as part of routine PACU responsibilities
• Participate in on-call requirements as determined by the PACU Unit Based Staffing Committee (currently 4 hours per 6-week cycle; travelers expected to meet the same requirement as staff nurses if needed)
• Complete required pre-start modules (up to 8 billable hours at the regular hourly rate) prior to orientation start

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience with at least 30–40% pediatric patient population
• Demonstrated experience with central line management and tracheostomy patients
• Active BLS certification required
• Active PALS certification required
• Washington State RN license or Compact RN license accepted; candidates without a Washington license must be willing to apply upon offer
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care experience strongly preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, ventilator management, and broader pediatric care
• PACU experience across multiple practice settings with a wide variety of acutely ill patient types, preferably in an academic setting
• Prior travel nursing experience and Epic EMR proficiency
