Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients from newborn to 21 years old, including those requiring respiratory support, ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and post-surgical recovery. The position requires working within a dynamic, high-acuity environment with a focus on trauma, burn, and eye center services.

Job Details:

  • Location: Baltimore, Maryland
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: RN license; BLS; PALS; ACLS; at least 2 years of current experience in Pediatric ICU; strong background in pediatric critical care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Critical Care Certification, trauma course, experience with EPIC system.
  • Additional Information: The unit cares for patients with respiratory failure, metabolic and seizure disorders, multiorgan failure, shock, toxic ingestions, ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and post-transplant surgeries. Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 2:1 or 1:1. Candidates with previous employment within any Johns Hopkins health system facility must have at least one full year away from any Johns Hopkins system facility before applying as a traveler. Verification of prior employment within the system is required.
