Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience and active NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• Located in a hospital PICU setting, with floating required to adolescents, pediatrics, PHOC, and NICU as needed
• Patient ratios of 1:1–2 in the PICU and 1:3 for intermediate care; ratios vary when floating based on patient acuity
• Charting performed in Epic
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend and applicable holidays are required
• CVVH and/or CRRT, and patient transport experience are highly preferred
• Ventilator management and vaccine administration are part of the scope of practice in this unit

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required; 2.5+ years in a large facility is ideal
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:1–3
• Experience with CVVH and/or CRRT highly preferred
• ICP monitoring experience preferred
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Two current professional references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment

• Candidates with fewer than 7 days of RTO and no holiday time-off requests will be prioritized
• Scrub requirement: pediatric-friendly top with navy blue scrub bottoms
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
