Description

American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a night shift position requiring 18 months of pediatric ICU experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 3x12 or 4x12 shift options with holiday coverage required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start date
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of PICU experience required
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with care of ventilated patients and respiratory management required
• Knowledge of cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Infection control, PPE, and isolation precautions competency required
• Proficiency in pediatric dosage calculations and administration of emergency medications required
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the ICU setting
• Administer medications, monitor cardiovascular status, and manage ventilated patients
• Maintain infection control and isolation precautions per hospital protocol
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Any current or former IU Health perm/PRN employee must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of employment within IU Health must take a designated break to reset eligibility before starting a new assignment
