Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) travel assignment. This critical need position is ideal for a highly skilled pediatric critical care nurse with extensive PICU and pediatric cardiac experience. The RN will provide specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs, hemodynamic status, and response to treatment.
Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and critical care interventions in accordance with physician orders.
Operate and monitor advanced critical care equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and other life-support devices.
Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
Assist with bedside procedures and collaborate with physicians and specialty teams during critical interventions.
Educate and support patients' families regarding treatment plans, disease processes, and discharge planning when appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement standards at all times.
Work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.
Current PALS certification.
Minimum 5 years of recent, continuous PICU experience with no floating assignments.
Minimum 5 years of pediatric cardiac experience.
Strong knowledge of pediatric critical care protocols and emergency response.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related healthcare field.
Experience caring for high-acuity pediatric cardiac patients.
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Excellent communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
