TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Wilmington, North Carolina, 28401!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS Must-Have: ICU experience Description: Facility can offer a 13-week contract. RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. May recover surgical patients in the ICU setting. Traveler experience is required. Local candidates are accepted, but the rate may differ. Skills required include Phase 1-2 PACU and some ICU experience. Candidates will NOT float to the ICU but may manage this level of care in PACU. Additionally, a PACU RN may be sent to recover patients in the STICU. Charge nurse experience, conscious sedation, telemetry, and pediatric experience are preferred. Staffing ratios: 1:2. Call requirement: once every four weeks. Weekend coverage varies. Contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters. The Phase 1 Recovery Unit provides observation and care for patients who have undergone surgical procedures requiring anesthesia. Patients are received directly from the OR and other areas. Recovery times may vary from 30 to 90 minutes based on when patients meet discharge criteria. Nights and weekends involve recovering and discharging Phase II patients. Special equipment includes cardiac monitors and various other devices. Unit staffing requires floating to overflow areas occasionally. Candidate must be open to floating within or near the facility as needed. Patient age groups served include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census ranges from 75 to 100 patients. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams. Required patient diagnoses include thoracotomies and pediatric surgeries. Unit provides a varied and challenging practice environment.
