Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 08:00 - 20:30 Experience: 1 year preferred License: Active compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: All previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position. 1 year of experience preferred. 1st timers accepted. Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in PACU. Shift is 3x12 days from 08:00 to 20:30. The schedule pattern is week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Call is required for 7-8 shifts per month. Weeknight call is from 23:00 to 08:00. Weekend call is for 24 hours. Preferred experience includes charge experience and community hospital experience. Travel experience is not required but preferred. Skills required include: Airway assessment, arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management. Dysrhythmia recognition and management. Emergency medications and general surgery skills including extubation and intubation. Management of pediatric patients and procedural sedation. Assessment and management of pain, medication reconciliation, and post-operative procedures. This position also involves collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. This position involves case management for a variety of patient diagnoses primarily in adult care with a small number of pediatric cases. The role requires thorough understanding and management of special procedures related to postoperative care and recovery. References covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required during the compliance process prior to starting. Modules are non-billable and average 16 hours spent, completed pre-start and annually. Completion is recorded appropriately in transcripts.
