Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,031 per week in New Orleans, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or Louisiana license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. Experience in PACU or pre/post-operative care is preferred. Critical care post-operative experience is preferred. Description: This position supports patients for all major surgical services. The unit provides care for all surgical/procedural populations, except for patients requiring critical care services. Nurses care for pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery for both pediatric and adult populations. The department offers pre/post-operative care to patients in a total of 34 operating rooms across 2 floors. The first floor has 6 operating rooms, 2 cystoscopy suites, and a shared pediatric GI/lithotripsy room. This section has a high volume of pediatric patients. The second floor includes 28 operating rooms and services cases from endoscopy, interventional radiology, and a pulmonary lab. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages during pre-operative and recovery phases. Special equipment used in the unit includes Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein. Patient ratios are typically 1:2. Scheduled weekends may be required. Candidates must be prepared to report as assigned by the unit manager in case of emergency events.
