Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,102 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care, level 1 trauma center License: License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Critical care experience, inpatient care, phase I PACU experience, dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV start, and management of vasoactive drugs. Description: Critical care night shift on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 19:00 to 07:30. No call required. Average daily census is between 70-90 patients. Unit consists of 38 patient bays. Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients. Surgical patients recovered include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant. Open heart surgeries and liver transplants are not recovered in this unit. Required experience includes care for patients requiring artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs. Expectation to pre-op patients for first cases from 0530 to 0730 when there are no PACU patients. Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia is required. High acuity inpatient PACU and ICU experience is preferred. Two years of PACU experience in a level 1 trauma center and ICU/critical care experience is mandatory. Unit operates 24/7, providing recovery for a wide array of acute post-operative patients. Compliance with facility needs is required, including floating within PACU or PreOp units. No block schedule accommodations can be made. Local candidates cannot be accepted within a specified radius. Travelers must adhere to established rules and regulations regarding time off requests. Certifications in ACLS are necessary prior to compliance deadlines. Modules related to the role are required to be completed within a designated timeframe prior to start date.
