Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 24 weeks Shift: Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM with call including every 10th weekend Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: - Two years of acute care RN experience License: - Registered Nurse Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Acute care nursing experience - Patient assessment skills - Care plan development - Care plan implementation - Clinical intervention monitoring Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Using the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experience in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Utilizes resources effectively to support the needs of patients and families. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates and coordinates patient and family education specific to their needs and follows through during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor while fostering teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards.
