Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PACU or short stay License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Pediatric experience Description: Only PACU and short stay experience required. Epic experience is required. Travelers with prior experience are preferred. Weekend requirements are based on the needs of the unit. Must have certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS. The candidate must possess pediatric experience. Will float as needed within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. Travel experience is required. Potential to float between PACU and short stay unit throughout the shift. Candidate will work in a high-acuity environment. Daily clinical tasks will include patient assessments and monitoring. Strong knowledge of emergency medications and critical care protocols is expected. Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in patient care is essential. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations. Previous charge experience is preferred. References are required from recent clinical positions. Successful candidates will provide care to pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The role will involve patient education and discharge instructions. The nurse will be responsible for medication reconciliation and ensuring compliance with protocols. Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret lab values is necessary. Candidates must effectively manage varying patient ratios and acuity levels.
