Position: Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Location: Dublin
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 4×10
Experience Required: 2 Years
Weekly Pay:$2200 to $2400
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions
Perform detailed post-operative assessments, including airway, neurological status, pain management, and hemodynamic monitoring
Monitor vital signs and identify changes in patient condition requiring immediate intervention
Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, pain management therapies, and other post-operative treatments
Manage post-anesthesia complications, including respiratory distress, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, and pain control
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, operating room staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe patient recovery
Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations, discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Ensure compliance with infection prevention practices, patient safety standards, and PACU protocols
Participate in patient transfers to inpatient units or discharge planning as appropriate
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting a safe and efficient recovery process
Requirements
Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
Current BLS Certification required
Current ACLS Certification required
PALS Certification preferred or required depending on facility
Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery, airway management, pain management, and emergency response
Experience caring for adult surgical patients in an acute care hospital
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Excellent communication, assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced perioperative environment
