Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2+ years of experience required; willing to consider candidates with at least 1.5 years if they possess strong experience or past travel experience. License: Valid state license required at the time of submission. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred; travel experience required. Description: The role requires a registered nurse with at least 2 years of experience in the PACU setting. Candidates with a strong background and significant travel experience may also be considered with 1.5 years of experience. The position includes an on-call requirement of up to 4 weeknight shifts per month and 2 weekend 12-hour shifts per month. Patient ratios are maintained at 2 patients per nurse during day shifts. Nurses will be required to care for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit performs multi-specialty procedures including but not limited to ENT, general surgery, urology, orthopedic surgeries, bariatric procedures, robotics, and endoscopic procedures. Interdisciplinary support is provided by respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Demonstrated skills in managing ports, airway assessments, and monitoring post-operative patients are essential. Candidates should possess strong assessment skills and the ability to interpret lab values. Experience in pain management and comfort in administering procedural sedation is required. Candidates must be able to float within the hospital or to nearby facilities as needed.
