Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10:00 - 20:30 Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient PACU experience, charge experience preferred License: Active compact nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - 2 years inpatient PACU experience with general, ortho, and neuro patients - Experience with vasoactive drip titration - Rotation between Phase I and Phase II PACU Description: All previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position. First-time travel nurses are accepted if they have Epic experience and at least 2 years of inpatient PACU experience. This position requires general skills in IV administration, narcotics/opioid analgesics, neuro care, ortho and spine care, and phlebotomy. The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include surgeries such as hernia repair, laparoscopy for appendicitis, colon resections, gynecological procedures, and orthopedic surgeries. Weekends may be required based on unit staffing needs. This position involves patient care for diverse age groups, including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit has 38 beds and accommodates various surgical procedures, including elective, urgent, and emergent cases. References are required covering one year of experience within the last three years prior to start. Modules are non-billable and completed pre-start and annually, with time spent self-reported.
