Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or Louisiana license required upon submission Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS Must-Have: - Background in PACU or Pre/Post Operative experience - Comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed Description: Please ensure you are aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after an event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed during each emergency event, as impacts may vary. By signing your travel contract for this position, you agree to report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above expectations. Nurses will care for patients across all age groups during pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery. This department supports patients for major surgical services and provides pre/post-operative care. The unit services a high volume of pediatric patients and supports various surgical and procedural populations, except for those requiring critical care services. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages and handle a patient ratio of 1:2 to 3. A background in regional anesthesia is preferred. Special equipment used includes Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein. All personnel must have up-to-date certifications and provide verification as needed. Referencing and support staff experience will be required to complete the clearance process prior to starting the contract.
