Job Title: Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Atlanta, GA 30342
Schedule:
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Varies
- 3 x 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours/week
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience within the specialty.
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Current AHA ACLS certification required.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred/required.
- No local candidates within 50 miles.
Unit Information
- Department: PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
- Unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Holiday call coverage is required.
- Cares for higher-acuity post-operative patients.
- Unit is supported by a Charge Nurse and Nursing Supervisor.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures.
- Perform immediate post-operative assessments, including airway management, neurological status, pain evaluation, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and overall patient stability during the recovery phase.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, blood products, and pain management therapies according to physician orders.
- Identify and respond promptly to post-operative complications, including respiratory distress, bleeding, cardiac events, and altered neurological status.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe patient recovery.
