Description:
This position is for a PACU unit.
This is a Monday to Friday shift with some variability in hours.
24 hours of call is required.
This role operates during daytime hours; nights, holidays, and weekends are not included.
Candidates must have ACLS and BLS certifications.
All RNs are expected to provide competent pre-op and post-op care.
Approximately 85% of patients are same-day surgery cases.
Rapid pace and quick turnover are characteristic of this unit.
Flexibility is a critical skill necessary for success in this role.
RNs are responsible for high-level acuity patients, including those with multiple drains and on vasoactive drips.
The staff must be familiar with mechanical ventilation and recovery from general anesthesia.
Critical care or Level I Trauma Center experience is required.
Candidates will need to pass an EKG exam and demonstrate proficiency in managing postoperative patients.
Ideal candidates are those who can handle complicated cases efficiently.
All staffing will occur within the designated service line.
