Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,352 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PACU or Critical Care License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Critical care experience - Ability to recognize and manage dysrhythmias - Blood product administration experience - Proficient in phlebotomy and starting IVs - Experience with IV vasopressors and ICP monitoring - Care of ventilated patients - Experience in a Level I Trauma Center - Familiarity with Epic charting system Description: The position requires working night shift from 2200 to 0830. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday. No weekends, holidays, or call required. The average daily census is between 70 to 90 patients. The unit contains 38 patient bays. Patients include adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric populations. Surgical patients recovered include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general surgery, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant. Open heart surgeries and liver transplants are not recovered in this unit. Critical care experience is mandatory as many patients may require artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive medications. The night shift will require nurses to pre-operatively work up patients for first cases. Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia is essential. This position requires high acuity inpatient PACU and ICU experience. The unit is open 24/7 and consists of a critical care environment. Candidates must pass an EKG exam as part of the compliance process. The role includes floating within the PACU or pre-operative units as needed. Travelers must adhere to an RTO policy limiting time off to a maximum of 7 days. All clinical skills must be verified prior to consideration for this position. Compliance documentation is required within specified timelines.
