Description:
This position requires a registered nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
The role involves caring for a variety of surgical patients recovering after anesthesia.
The patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients.
The types of surgeries include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant.
Open heart surgeries and liver transplants are not within the recovery scope of this unit.
The unit operates 24/7 and consists of 38 patient bays.
Staff will provide care for post-operative patients, including those requiring artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive drugs.
Facility support includes respiratory services and rapid response teams.
The average daily census ranges from 70 to 90 patients.
Critical care experience is required, particularly in high acuity settings.
Applicants with experience in managing drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation are preferred.
Recovery from general anesthesia experience is a core requirement of this position.
