Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (09:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Must-Have: Experience recovering patients after orthopedic, neurological, general, urology, dental, gynecological, and pediatric surgeries. Experience with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines. Strong pediatric experience and critical care experience preferred. Ability to assist with coverage in pre-operative holding. Experience in a Level II trauma setting preferred. Description: Candidates should have experience recovering adult and pediatric patients. BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH certifications are required. Monday to Friday shifts with call requirements are expected. Experience with a variety of surgical procedures is necessary, excluding cardiac surgeries. Applicants must be willing to float to pre-operative holding as needed. The unit serves a broad age range from infants to geriatrics. High volumes of orthopedic, general, gynecological, neurological, and urology surgeries are performed. Interdisciplinary support is available from multiple services, including respiratory services and pharmacy. Candidates must be prepared for on-site drug screening as part of the hiring process. Excellent patient care skills, knowledge of sedation practices, and pain management are essential. The role entails monitoring and managing various medical interventions and patient assessments.
