Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU or high acuity PACU setting
License: Active nursing license required
Certifications: ACLS and BCLS required; CCRN and CPI preferred

- Flexibility to work weekends as required
- Willingness to train in PACU for those with ICU experience
Description:
This position is for a PACU Registered Nurse.
The shift is 4x10 hours, including weekends with variable days off.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of ICU experience or 2+ years in a high acuity PACU.
First-time travelers with strong ICU experience are accepted.
Weekends are required unless specified otherwise in the schedule.
The unit has a high acuity patient population aged 12 and older.
It offers a fast-paced environment, receiving patients from various areas post-procedure after sedation.
Unstable ICU patients are directed to the unit.
The role involves procedures such as TEE, cardioversion, epidural block placement, and lumbar injections.
Nurses should demonstrate strong critical thinking and clinical skills.
The unit is open to training nurses from ICU backgrounds in the PACU environment.
Preferred candidates have a university level of care experience.
The role includes patient care responsibilities for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Daily patient census ranges from 60 to 80.
Patient ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 during the day and night shifts.
The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary services, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Special equipment and procedures may be required, with a focus on critical care skills.
