Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Must-Have:
Must have Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II care experience.
Must have IV skills.
Description:
The position will float between units.
On-call is not required.
Weekends are not mandatory.
Block scheduling is required.
Expected patient ratios are 1:2.
Previous charge experience is preferred.
Experience in charting systems is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with inpatient care, Phase I PACU, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, and blood product administration.
Central line care and management, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents experience is essential.
Knowledge of external ventricular drain management, ICP monitoring, care of ventilated patients, and conscious sedation is required.
Skills in managing post-epidural care, general anesthesia, local anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, nerve blocks, malignant hyperthermia protocol, and pain assessment & management are necessary.
PCA pump management and knowledge of Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale (RASS) is required.
Experience with various patient populations including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics is expected.
Daily census is approximately 20 patients.
Interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
The unit handles outpatient surgical procedures in diverse specialties including gynecology, orthopedics, biopsies, hand surgery, and minor pediatric cases.
