Description

Job Title: RN PACU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Level 1 experience required License: Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Level 1 experience Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary. Administers medications as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with patients and families to share care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides discharge education for post-operative patients.
