Job Title: Registered Nurse - PACU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours per day, 4 days a week Experience: Recent experience with electronic health record systems required License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification required AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS certification required Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to the patients' health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops plans that prescribe interventions to attain outcomes. Implements care plans and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for patients or patient situations. Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing safe and healing patient care. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
