Shift Type: Variable day shifts, 8-10 hours, start times between 5:00 AM - 12:00 PM; call every 7-8 weeks on Saturday 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by starting IVs, obtaining consents, and documenting assessments
- Monitor patients post-operatively and manage transradial bands and cath lab observations
- Administer preop medications and assist with electrical shock therapy preparation
- Read and interpret telemetry strips for 2 rooms with 4 monitors
- Collaborate with an intensivist and anesthesiologist in a fast-paced unit
Knowledge & Skills
- Preoperative and post-operative care
- Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
- IV therapy and blood draws
- Cerner Surginet charting system
- Transradial band management and hematoma recognition
