Travel Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Travel Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This vital role involves providing immediate post-operative care to patients recovering from various surgical procedures in an acute care hospital setting, specifically on the ground floor PACU.
The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, monitoring, and intervention during the critical recovery phase. This includes managing pain, ensuring airway patency, stabilizing vital signs, and providing essential patient and family education before transfer to the next level of care.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess post-operative patients' vital signs, pain levels, and neurological status.
Manage patient airways, administer medications, and provide wound care as needed.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure optimal patient recovery.
Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions.
Document all patient care activities accurately and timely.
Respond to emergent situations with critical thinking and appropriate interventions.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Years of experience: Not specified.
Ability to commit to a 13-week travel assignment.
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week, on a variable schedule.
