Job Title: Clinical Nurse (RN)

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an acute care setting within the last 5 years.
License: Valid and current Registered Nurse License
Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS required; CCRN preferred.
Must-Have:
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience required.
- Experience in PACU, critical care, or emergency department nursing is essential.
- Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Description:
The Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and authority to deliver safe, effective, quality nursing care according to the goals of the Department of Nursing.
The RN utilizes a caring philosophy and professional nursing practice model to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for all patients assigned to his/her care.
The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals.
Utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient.
Supports the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence of the organization.
Demonstrates competency by consistently applying scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences in the nursing process.
Provides care that is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in the principles of relationship-based care.
Assesses the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis.
Formulates a nursing diagnosis through observation of the client’s physical condition and behavior and through interpretation of information obtained from clients and others.
Collaborates with clients to formulate a care plan ensuring nursing services deliver safety, comfort, hygiene, protection, and disease prevention.
Performs essential nursing skills and explains health treatments to clients and families.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan through observation and communication with clients and health team members.
Demonstrates knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
Delegates tasks to care team members based on their legal scope of practice and supervises the nursing care being provided.
Acts as the client’s advocate by initiating actions to improve healthcare or change decisions against the client’s interests.
Provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
Coordinates patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary care team members.
Utilizes effective communication skills to facilitate safe patient handoffs.
Documents nursing care per hospital policies.
Utilizes manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
Accountable to meet or exceed unit and organizational goals for patient satisfaction.
Contributes to a positive patient care experience through individual interactions with patients and families.
Investigates and resolves complaints with the goal of immediate resolution if possible.
Performs other duties as assigned.
