Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of six months, up to three years of nursing experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Comfortable titrating vasoactive drips, experience with sedation for ventilated patients Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN prevents illness and injury and alleviates suffering through diagnosis and treatment. The RN advocates for individuals and families in their care. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The RN serves as a primary or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. The RN considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. The RN actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model. The RN engages in professional development and continuing nursing education. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN performs other duties as assigned. Schedule Notes: Comfort with titrating vasoactive drips is preferred. Common drips used include cleviprex and levophed. Managing sedation for ventilated patients is also a priority, with precedex and propofol typically used.
