Registered Nurse – PACU (Inpatient)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (9:00–21:30) | 36–48 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide post-anesthesia care to inpatient surgical patients in a Level I Trauma, acute care setting at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
  • Perform pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization lab and interventional radiology patients
  • Monitor patients utilizing telemetry and apply critical care assessment skills throughout the recovery process
  • Float within the PACU department to the Holding area as needed, supporting a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–5 for PCU-equivalent inpatient assignments
  • Fulfill on-call requirements of 1–2 overnight call shifts per month within the four-week schedule
  • Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license (pending licensure may be considered at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience; Level I Trauma and Telemetry experience required
  • Pre- and post-procedure experience with cardiac catheterization lab and interventional radiology cases required
  • Current BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and PALS certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
  • Must meet non-local requirement — candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible
  • Valid non-local driver's license on file
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a PACU or acute care surgical setting
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records charting system
  • Availability for one weekend shift per month and flexibility with on-call scheduling
